Anti-Sugar Music VideoAfter viewing the movie fed up, I challenged my classes to create a project that would advocate for what they learned from our discussion on the dangers of sugar. I offered them 8 different choices to showcase what they had learned. These girls took the project to a whole new level. They really were excited about creating a music video for their project. They worked during recess, study hall, during class, and even spend a couple of hours at a grocery store. During school hours they created their own lyrics, recorded their audio, and prepared for their trip to a grocery store. After school hours they filmed their video portion of this at a grocery store to tie it all together. Here is the finished product and it is amazing!

Mustang Health MagazineClick on the photo to the left to see the Mustang Health Magazine that my students created for a stress unit for health education class. Students created all the material for the magazine. Each student had a job like; editor in chief, magazine writer, videographer, infographic designer, poster maker, and advertiser. We voted on the top submissions and then built a magazine from the best of the best. This was an great way to turn your class into a fun job and have your students be at the center of their learning.

the locker organizerThis advertisement was created for our Mustang Health Magazine stress edition. This video will give you different stressors that happen in teens lives. It will also show you have to use different stress management techniques to recover from the stressors. This magazine was created to showcase many different creative ways to relieve stress and beat it. Students got to choose if they wanted to be editors in chief, magazine writers, videographers, infographic designers, poster makers, and even advertisers. This was great because the learning was differentiated for many different style of learners. It is done in a way where class becomes a fun job where students are in center of their learning.
