Jump rope olympicsYour students will love this! Get them excited about jumping rope at school and at home with this Olympic style challenge. There are so many possibilities of how you can use this resource. There are 3 different levels, bronze, silver, and gold. Gold also has a partner jump section to give your students more voice and choice. Students can work through this presentation on their own, with some guidance from you. Videos have multiple different vantage points, helpful tips, and they continuously loop until a student is done with that challenge. Each level has a check off table, where students can mark if they earned a bronze, silver, or gold medal. This document can be shared with them on google classroom where they can work at their own pace or level or you can use a projector and go through each jump with the entire class. Keep them excited about a great lifetime activity that they can practice at school or home! Great way to keep parents involved as well.

Nitroball unit plansAre you looking for a new unit for PE that is very active, everyone can play, and is a non-traditional activity? Nitroball is for you! Nitroball is basically volleyball with a bounce in between each hit and nets are lowered to the height of a tennis or pickleball net. This high energy fun activity will keep your students engaged and excited throughout the unit. The basics of this unit are; serves are used to start play, each team gets up to 3 hits per side of the net, the ball can bounce up to once in between each hit, and play continues until there is a fault. This unit can be done both indoors and outdoors. You can use a variety of volleyballs that you have for your school. I used our indoor pickleball nets, for a winter unit, but you could have use outdoor tennis nets for outdoor use. If you have some nets, and some time to give a new sport a try, Nitroball is a great addition to a physical education curriculum!
